Catalina Island Zip Line Eco Tour #catalinaexpress #catalinaisland

On Catalina Island, Darren finally got to try zip-lining for the first time, and he did it on his birthday. Next time, I'm going with him! Catalina Island's Zip Line Eco Tour is a two hour tour with 5 separate zip lines at heights of more than 300 feet above the canyon with one run that is 1,100 feet long! Each stopping at Eco-stations for live presentations about Catalina's natural history, wildlife, and the areas you are passing through. It starts at Hog's Back gate, runs about three-quarters of a mile at speeds up to 40 mph, and takes you back down to Descanso Beach. Advance reservations are recommended.

They want you to arrive 20 minutes before your reservation and it took us about 20 minutes to walk over from Avalon Grille to get to the Zipline Tour Center which is behind Descanso Beach Club, so you'll want to plan ahead and leave 40 minutes before your reservation. We all filled out waivers on a tablet before they geared us up and watched a short safety demonstration from our instructors. Shortly after the presentation, a shuttle bus took us up to our starting point at Hog's Back gate. (Where we checked-in was also where we ended up.) The guides in our group were hilarious and told jokes the whole time. They kept us entertained and help made our experience even better.

Note: Restrooms are not available while on tour.
