Taste of LA County Fair's Food! Opens Friday, 9/4! #LACFnaturalhigh #lacf

It's that time of year again. The sights, sounds, and smells of the Los Angeles County Fair are back again in Pomona starting on Friday, September 4th and runs through the 27th. One thing that always keep people coming back year after year (besides the rides, attractions, and furry critters) is the food! The kind of food that makes some of us feel guilty, but we do it anyway. Yesterday, I went to check out some of the Fair Favorites and sampled a few new ones. Here are a few of my top picks!

Catheryn's Top Picks at the LA Fair

Chicken Charlie is your one stop shop for everything you can imagine Fried. They also fry up things that you didn't even know COULD be fried like Fried Guacamole or Fried Slim Fast Bar. For a non-fried option, try their Teriyaki Chicken Pineapple Bowl. It's super tender and not over-marinated. I highly recommend it!

So Ricco's Italian Ice has these amazingly delicious drinks made with real fresh fruits and veggies. Above is the Mango Michelagua with a chili rim. It's the drink to get at the LA County Fair! Additional flavors are strawberry, watermelon, and my other two favorites - pineapple with spinach and cucumber all with the chili rim. They will also be offering Chamoyeadas which are shaved ice cups filled with syrups and chili. So good on a hot day at the Fair right?

We're Going Orange for Team Denny's No Kid Hungry in September!

This is a sponsored post written by me for Denny's.
________________________

Did you know that one in five children struggle with hunger every day in America? It is hard for me to believe that this is still happening, but I've spoken to teachers throughout the year, and they tell me children go to school hungry all the time. This month I'm going ORANGE to support No Kid Hungry, and as a blogger ambassador for Denny's, I've joined their efforts to help raise money and awareness to end child hunger in America!

Now through Oct. 12th in their 5th annual fundraising efforts, nearly 1,600 Denny’s restaurants nationwide will join the campaign and help the fight against childhood hunger. (Denny's have donated $2.3 million-to-date which provided 23 million meals to kids in need across the country!) They want to do better and have an even greater impact this year. Here's what you'll see:
  • Denny’s restaurants are going ORANGE (the campaign color) to show their support for No Kid Hungry. PLUS you will also see DreamWorks Animations' characters this year.
  • For just a $3 donation, guests will receive $9 worth of coupons for diner favorites redeemable at participating locations or Guests can contribute online
