We have visited the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament Show in Buena Park several times now and and every time, we have a blast! The show is fun, family-friendly, and it includes dinner. As we walk through the Court of Flags, they crown us, and we instantly feel like we are in for a great adventure! One of the first things we did upon entry is meet Princess Catalina for a photo opportunity. This varies between the King, a Knight, or Princess. The printed keepsakes are optional to buy and distributed later in the show.Read More

If you are following my mommy makeover journey with Lipoabdominoplasty, it has been two weeks since my procedure at Cosmeticare with Dr. Brian Reagan, and I'm doing great. I started walking up straight the same day thanks to tension sutures. My doctor is amazing! I've been off pain meds for days, I'm showering, walking but walking slow, sleeping in my own bed (no longer on the couch), still drinking lots of water, stronger every day, and I had a lymphatic massage yesterday. I'm still wearing my binder as instructed and will soon switch to Spanx. Everyone that visited me say they are surprised how well I am doing in this short amount of time. I have some helpful tips that could make recovery a bit easier.
I think the hardest part on the day of surgery was the wait time. I was a little nervous going in. I packed a tote with all my prescribed medications, my ID, cell phone, a small pillow. I wore my glasses, post surgery gown, undergarments, and flip flops. I didn't eat or drink anything as instructed since 9:30 pm the night before. I brushed my teeth and tried not to swallow anything and especially no drinking water...Read More

One of the attractions that is big on family fun is the little theme park in Anaheim - ADVENTURE CITY! Did you know this amusement park is right down the street from Knott's Berry Farm (between Ball and Cerritos) on Beach Boulevard? This family owned and operated park has 17 rides, shows, and attractions including a petting zoo, a misting rain room, arcade, and Thomas & Friends area which is a great resting spot. Their newest ride is a coaster called "Rewind Racers". It goes backwards, forwards, and once it reaches the top, it goes backwards in rewind! It is a favorite! With admissions like $18.95 per person, unlimited rides, and free parking, it's really hard to beat! This park is not that big, but it's packed with things to do for all ages. It's also the perfect size for the little ones. The park is not super crowded like the others so it's less time in lines and more time on rides. I'll highlight a few with height and age restrictions below.Read More
The Oaks at Ojai is one of a kind. It is an all-inclusive wellness weight-loss resort in the City of Ojai in California. My sister and I went for my birthday this year and loved it so much, we want to go every year (maybe for next year's girls' trip?) The resort provides all the meals, snacks, beverages, as well as fitness classes, enrichment program, parking and wifi included in a one night stay. For three days, we didn't wear makeup nor fixed our hair, we went to bed early every night, woke up early each morning to hike or do a brisk walk around town. I especially enjoyed the morning stretch class. We followed the itinerary as closely as we could without skipping meals and snack breaks, took as many classes as possible, and if we were tired, we either took a nap or laid out by the pool. We even had time to stop by the farmers market which was only a block away and scheduled a spa service. It was low key and it was great. Everything on the itinerary was optional, and we are fully in control what we want to do at our own pace.Read More
CHOC Walk is early this year and is held on Sunday, August 27 at Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney! The fundraising walk is always done in the early hours before the park opens to the public and raises funds for health care programs, education and research for Southern California’s kids. (Note: It does not include admissions to the park but you are walking through the park before operating hours, and there's a special offer to purchase discounted park tickets same day only.) "CHOC WALK Wednesdays" at Chick-fil-A is a fundraising effort to support CHOC Children's Hospital. Stop by any Orange County Chick-fil-A location on the four Wednesdays leading up to the CHOC Walk and purchase a Chocolate Chunk Cookie, a six pack or a catering tray of 12 or 24 and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to CHOC. Learn all about it below and enter for a chance to win Chick-fil-A for a year!Read More
This month, we're all gearing up for Back-To-School, and I'm working on a game plan so I don't get anxieties this year. For example, I will try to avoid crowds by shopping early in the season and in the mornings. I'm already finding some good deals at the mall. This year I am "Pairing Up" with JCPenney! I like collaborating with JCPenney, because not only do I find affordable pieces and they have a great selection of licensed tees that we love, every year they roll out a program to help children in need. This year for two weeks (8/1 through 8/15), for every pack of socks or underwear sold, JCPenney will "Pair Up" and donate a pack to the Y to give to kids in need up to 750,000. What a great cause!Read More
If you are following my abdominoplasty journey, my surgery date is this week, and is scheduled with Dr. Brian Reagan at Cosmeticare. They required a $500 deposit to secure the date. You can go in as many times as you need for free consultations, but when it starts getting serious and you want to lock down a date, they'll ask for a deposit. The deposit is applied toward your balance, and it is refundable if you change your mind. You can understand that they want you fully committed and no last minute cancellations are acceptable. They have to schedule staff and book the facility, etc. Since I won't be able to drive for two weeks, I had to schedule around my children's school schedule. For us, summer time is best. My second option would be around the holidays. When you book your surgery, you will also need to make an appointment 1-2 weeks prior for Pre-Op (pre-operation) instructions. I recommend 2 weeks if possible. During those two weeks, I filled prescriptions and went shopping for this post-operation garment they recommended. They call it a muumuu with a zipper, and I found it at Kohls online as a zip-front robe. I also ran last minute errands, stocked up on groceries and needed down time to mentally prepare.Read More
Dental hygiene has always been important to me for my family, because our smiles is what everyone notices first. Plus, I know how expensive corrective procedures can be. It is, however, still challenging to get my children to brush their teeth without me reminding them. There are a lot of products out there geared toward children, and I have found that if they are in the characters they love, it will motivate them to use it more. As a FIREFLY Toothbrush Mom Ambassador, sometimes I get products to test. This last shipment I received a couple of fun Firefly Dental Travel Kits in Star Wars and Hello Kitty. They would have been perfect for our summer road trip this year. The kit includes a themed toothbrush, a tube of kid's toothpaste, a toothbrush cover, and a compact travel bag.Read More
The new SMURFS movie is about Smurfette. You might remember her origin from the cartoon series. She was created by the evil wizard Gargamel out of clay to find the Smurf Village. She turned good and became one of the most beloved Smurfs. However, in this film, everyone has an identity and a name that matches their personality. No one is able to define Smurfette and it really bothers her. To make her feel better, her friends take her out of the village for a day of surfing. Right before she is captured by Gargamel, she comes face to face with a mysterious creature. Gargamel discovers The Lost Village and the rest of the movie is about uncovering the mysteries in the Forbidden Forest. SMURFS: THE LOST VILLAGE is now on digital and 4K Ultra HD™/Blu-ray™ + Digital, Blu-ray + Digital and DVD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film is fully animated unlike the other movies. I think I like this version way better. After seeing this film, I love Smurfette even more.Read More
