Although tickets for their party is already sold out, you can still enjoy both parks during HALLOWEEN TIME at Disneyland until October 31st! As you may know, Oogie Boogie casted a spell over Disney California Adventure. If you happen to be at Disneyland park when they transition over to Mickey's Halloween Party and make you exit the park, head over! They did an amazing job with Haul-O-Ween in Carsland, and the Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark is scary as heck! Now, if you scored a ticket to Mickey's Halloween Party, come early so you can not only enjoy both parks, but you'll want to experience all the events exclusive to the Party. Early entry begins 3 hours before the Party starts. We tried to come as early as we could, but we still didn't make it to everything. Both parks are huge! My best advice is to plan ahead especially if you have small children. You saw the security line I posted online right? It went quickly after we made it through, but we hit the ground running, and for the rest of the evening, the pace stayed the same until we had to call it a night. Come prepared, dress for comfort, and enjoy!

Oogie Boogie, the boogeyman from "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas", has casted a spell over Disney California Adventure Park! For the very first time, Halloween Time at Disneyland is now celebrated at both parks! You'll first notice Oogie Boogie at the main entrance. Did you hear what he said? ...Watch out! Throughout the night, he will also unleash a swarm of bats. Want to see where they congregate? The bats are circling the tower of the Carthay Circle Theatre! Cars Land has completely transformed and all your favorite Cars characters are all dressed up in their "car-stumes" to celebrate 'Haul-O-Ween'. It's so much fun! Thrill seekers will try to embrace themselves but it won't help in Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark. Scream all you want because you can't get off until the ride is finished. Come hungry! There are several themed treats. I just love this time of year, don't you? This year, a ticket to Mickey’s Halloween Party gets us into Disney California Adventure as well as Disneyland during the three hours prior to the beginning of the party in Disneyland Park. More details below!

I tell people all the time that the best LEGOLAND California deal is the Buy One, Get a Free Child Ticket promotion! Especially if you only need one day tickets for visiting guests. I know you've seen this deal before behind receipts at McDonald's, KFC or other fast food restaurants. But where is it when you need it?! Every time I need it, I can't seem to find it so I'm saving it here for future reference. You get a FREE CHILD TICKET with a paid regular priced adult ticket. After reading the fine print, I learned that the original coupon found on the back of the receipt can also be redeemed at the ticket booth. I had three. (I know I have them somewhere). It is good for only one complimentary Hopper Ticket per coupon, and it is only valid on day of purchase. Also good to note is they will not accept photocopies or faxes of the coupon at the gate. Additional restrictions may apply, and prices and hours subject to change without notice. This online discount will expire 12/31/17, and the front gate discount expires 3/30/18.
The Oaks at Ojai is one of a kind. It is an all-inclusive wellness weight-loss resort in the City of Ojai in California. My sister and I went for my birthday this year and loved it so much, we want to go every year (maybe for next year's girls' trip?) The resort provides all the meals, snacks, beverages, as well as fitness classes, enrichment program, parking and wifi included in a one night stay. For three days, we didn't wear makeup nor fixed our hair, we went to bed early every night, woke up early each morning to hike or do a brisk walk around town. I especially enjoyed the morning stretch class. We followed the itinerary as closely as we could without skipping meals and snack breaks, took as many classes as possible, and if we were tired, we either took a nap or laid out by the pool. We even had time to stop by the farmers market which was only a block away and scheduled a spa service. It was low key and it was great. Everything on the itinerary was optional, and we are fully in control what we want to do at our own pace.
LEGOLAND® Water Park is located inside the park (additional ticket required) at the north end of LEGOLAND® California adjacent to Fun Town (see map below). This part of the park has been opened since May 2010. It includes Legends of Chima Water Park, Pirate's Reef, Soak-n-Sail, and new this summer - Surfer's Cove! Surfer's Cove features six water slides which extends 100-feet where guests can race each other for the fastest time on Riptide Racers water slides. Look for a LEGO winner's trophy for a great photo opportunity! There's a new spray ground called Wipeout Lagoon where multiple water jets splash on and off creating a wave effect. New eatery offers Beach Street Tacos and new seating area. Find new LEGO models throughout in beach themes - LEGO surfers, LEGO seagulls, LEGO crabs, a LEGO lifeguard, and a surfing dog model sits on top of a wave at the peak of Riptide Racers.
UPDATE: We were there June 30th, and Surfers' Cove was nearly finished.
LEGO Star Wars Days are back! Stormtroopers, Jedi and Darth Vader are taking over LEGOLAND California Resort on June 3 and 4, 2017! The festivities will open with the new LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Miniland Model Display. There will be galactic fun activities throughout the day such as the LEGO Star Wars Family Build Challenge, LEGO Star Wars Miniland Scavenger Hunt, Jedi Trivia, costume contests and more! Guests are encouraged to come in their favorite gear. Check the schedule below!
Something I have always wanted to try on Catalina Island was snorkeling. It was early spring, and of course, the ocean water was freezing, but amazingly with wetsuits on, it becomes bearable and absolutely fun! I am talking about going 9 AM in the morning with children and not being bothered by the temperature of the water. We were only planning to be out there about an hour but that was not long enough. We didn't have to go very far to see an abundance of sea creatures right off the coastal waters of Avalon, California! My husband and I both agree that this is our new favorite activity on the island. DESCANSO BEACH OCEAN SPORTS had everything we needed - mask & snorkel, fins, wetsuits for both adults and children, boogie boards, and water shoes (highly recommended because of the rocky bottoms unless you are using fins).
