We Spent the Day Out with Thomas™ (and Aunt Leyna) @OrangEmpireRail

Thomas & Friends™ was the first party-theme I planned for my child's birthday. My son was one and he doesn’t remember it, but I scrap booked everything to show him one day. I’ll have to tell you more about that later. But first, let me tell you about our Day Out with Thomas™!

When I heard that Thomas was coming to SoCal, I could hardly wait! Playing with Thomas is one thing but seeing him in person brings it to life!

My boys are obsessed with cars right now so I wanted to shake things up a bit. When we were invited to spend a Day Out with Thomas™, I could hardly contain my excitement. When your husband gets sick on you for a special day like this, do you cancel? HECK NO - I called up Aunt Leyna to come play with us. She had no idea where we were going. (FYI - Aunt Leyna does not have kids yet). She was in for a treat. =)

Getting There
Perris, California is an easy one hour drive from Orange County. I lost track of where I was at one point, because I was talking to Leyna so much. You'll know you're there when you start turning into some small roads. I don’t think it’s possible to get lost - just look for the Railway Museum signs.

Food Trucks
We were hungry so we went straight for the Food Trucks.

Lots of options to choose from –
  • California Pizza Kitchen
  • Carl’s Jr
  • Hot Dogs
  • Funnel Cake
  • Ice Cream
  • Roasted Almonds
  • More

Activities

There was just so much to see and do before our train ride with Thomas.
  • Meet Sir Topham Hatt™
  • Trolley Rides
  • Photos with Thomas
  • Live Music
  • Bounce Houses
  • Kid Hay Maze
  • Petting Zoo
  • Activity Train Tables with Mega Bloks (also a great resting area)
  • The Railway Museum
  • Storytelling
  • Collect Stamps for a Prize
  • Thomas Merchandise Store

The Museum
I think this was my favorite part of the trip! There are rows and rows of history sitting in that building. Lots of great photo opps! Is it weird that I thought it was romantic? I was thinking - this would make a great location for a wedding photoshoot or family photoshoot. Some were closed off, but there are some that you can climb inside and explore.

All Aboard!
We had the best time at a Day Out with Thomas™ (and Aunt Leyna). The kids love all the new Thomas stuff they got from their auntie, and will remember Aunt Leyna and Thomas always. (She spoiled them rotten!) I love all the memorabilias and I plan to scrapbook all of it! Plan to stay at least 3 hours there, because there are lots to do. It's stroller friendly and there's even a Mother's tent with changing tables. I hope you’ll agree that Day Out with Thomas™ is worth checking out. HURRY! They’re only in town for one more weekend.
