Big new adventures await at Discovery Cube OC with two new interactive exhibits featuring LEGO Travel Adventure and National Geographic Presents: Earth Explorers. It's fun for all ages! We attended media preview night, and the kids went crazy over the exhibits.

This is our second year at Monster Jam, and as usual, it was full of crazy stunt driving and so much fun to watch! What's exciting is anything can happen at Monster Jam, because their off-road racing is unpredictable! For example, a truck that crashed and turned on its side during the Timed Race could still win in the Freestyle Round. We saw trucks that flipped but one of their tires pulled themselves upright - AMAZING! The crazier the stunts the more points they score.

Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage features Samuel Pergande as Johnny Castle and Jillian Mueller as Frances "Baby" Houseman. Pergande started at age eight singing with the Florentine Opera Milwaukee, then studied ballet under Yves de Bouteiller, San Francisco Ballet and the Bolshoi Ballet. Mueller just finished starring in Flashdance – the Musical.

Last week we went to the Opening Night of the hilarious and inspiring Broadway Musical Kinky Boots at the Segerstrom Center in Costa Mesa. With music by the iconic Cyndi Lauper, the show is about a man named Charlie (Steven Booth), who inherits his father's failing shoe factory, and takes a chance on creating a rather unexpected new line of boots, encouraged by his fashionable, new cabaret star friend, Lola (Kyle Taylor Parker).

Over the holidays you might have noticed we went out of town to visit family, then we came back just in time to celebrate New Year's Eve at Knott's Berry Farm. We went last year, and while everyone was out trying to find the perfect spot for fireworks, everyone at Knott's enjoyed Merry Farm with holiday decor, holiday shows, extended park hours, live music by DJ Howly, an ice skating spectacular with Snoopy, rides, funnel cake, Knott's boysenberry pie, fireworks, and more! We just loved how festive and lively it was there. (Knott's always have something for everyone.)
