Now through March 27th, guests entering Knott's Berry Farm will be
greeted by a themed "pink" Knott’s Berry Farm for the Cure
display along with testimonials by breast cancer
survivors. This will be Knott’s Berry Farm and Susan G. Komen Orange
County's second year working together to raise money for breast
cancer awareness, services, and research by offering a special
discounted “Pink
Ticket” for park admissions and limited edition specially designed
“pink” merchandise.
Knott's Goes Pink for the Cure!
The three month long promotion will provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy Knott’s and specially-themed “pink” décor while supporting a great cause. You'll notice the Main Gate as well as the Calico Mine Ride and Camp Snoopy's waterfall will all glow "pink" in honor of the campaign.
- 75% of the funds raised for Susan G. Komen are used to provide local services throughout Orange County such as:
- Breast cancer detection and treatment education,
- Information and support for breast cancer survivors and families, and
- Funding for free mammograms for uninsured and underserved women.
- 25% of the funds raised for Susan G. Komen will support national research to discover the cure for breast cancer.
"In 2014, the successful two-month partnership with Komen Orange County helped raise nearly $100,000 for the organization. The monies raised provided underserved and underinsured women and men in Orange County with access to breast health care and services. (Additional fundraising efforts included the sale of discounted “Pink Tickets” and “Knott’s for the Cure” memorabilia as well as employee fundraising initiatives.) Also, Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, the parent organization of Knott’s Berry Farm, has raised nearly $1 million for Susan G. Komen in the last five years. This is the second year the partnership will directly impact awareness and services on a local level within Orange County."
| Limited edition “pink” t-shirts and canteens will be available for purchase. A portion of the “pink” merchandise proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen Orange County. |
On Saturday, January 10th, Knott's hosted a beautiful "pink" themed breakfast and a special press conference for us to learn more about their partnership and to also honor and support our dear friend and fellow blogger, Jaime Jenkins of Polka Dots on Parade, who is currently fighting breast cancer. Jaime was nearly 38 when she was diagnosed with stage 4. After last year's event, Jaime found lumps so went in to get them checked out. We were all devastated to learn that our friend had it. Now Jaime advocates for it, and writes about her journey openly on her blog. She is a true inspiration and has kept a positive fighting spirit. We all love her!

“During the Knott’s Berry Farm for the Cure partnership, guests can honor loved ones,” said Raffi Kaprelyan, vice president and general manager of Knott's Berry Farm. “The partnership between Knott’s Berry Farm and Susan G. Komen Orange County is an impactful one, as the two organizations come together to advance women’s health by raising money and awareness to fight breast cancer.”
Startling Facts!
Studies show that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. (That's alarming!) Here are more startling facts:
- About 19% of adult women in Orange County do not have health insurance—that’s about 195,000 women.
- Uninsured women have a 93% higher risk of dying from breast cancer within five years of their diagnosis compared to women with health insurance.
Early Detection Research Saves Lives!
Finding breast cancer early (when it’s easiest to treat) can save lives. Research estimates that regular screenings with mammography have resulted in 30% fewer deaths from breast cancer.
