DreamWork's How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular in OC!

DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular has finally arrived in OC and you won't want to miss it!

We went to go see it last night which was their Opening Night and it was so much fun!

Last weekend we saw a Sneak Preview at the Discovery Science Center and got to meet Hiccup and Stinger. My kids were a little scared of Stinger, but they didn't run away. It was quite entertaining and both Hiccup and Stinger made us laugh too.

We liked how DreamWorks really brought the film to life with these AMAZING scenes.

Yes, you are seeing correctly, Toothless is really flying with Hiccup

We liked that they made good use of the entire stage.

If you haven't seen the film, it has a really good message. Hiccup is not your traditional Viking and despite his Dad's wishes, he wasn't built to slay dragons. In fact, he learned that they were misunderstood all along and even became best friends with one. Join Hiccup as he face the challenges, and against all odds, were able to turn things around and help his village make the change.

If you're on the fence about seeing it, check out some of my short video clips:

You might want to know:

  • It's kid-friendly. I wondered if it would be too scary for my 3 and 5 year old, but we were not super close to the stage and still had good views. We enjoyed it and didn't have any issues. It wasn't violent nor scary at all.
  • Parking is $15
  • Wait to take your breaks. With a 20 minute intermission annoucement, most people will get up at this time to buy merchandise, run to the restrooms, and get snacks. To avoid long lines and still make it back on time, you might want to wait toward the end of the intermission.
