With drinks in hand (several bar setups on the first, second, and third floor), we wandered around aimlessly. On the second floor, we found a magical outdoor balcony. On the third floor, we discovered a cute little winter photo setup - even helped a few strangers take photos with their smartphones. We headed to our seats as the show was about to begin with a gentle warning of small ringing of intercom bells.

The Riverdance show is vibrant and full of great music and amazing traditional and contemporary Tap, Flamenco, and Russian folk dancing. Through out on the left of the stage were three seats for a fiddler (electronic), a flute player, and a trumpet player. On the right is a crazy over-the-top do-it-all drummer. The first half is filled with short bits of Irish history and beautiful singing and musicals. The second half is filled with fun upbeat dance off and an impressive performances by soloist and troupe. The good-looking lead dancers were quite the dual with champion moves and award-winning dynamic. The company dancers were quite amazing themselves. Overall, the show was captivating and full of energy with spaghetti legs and feet movement.

Only with a few suggestive improvements, we think our first date night would have been flawless: (1) The programs were filled with stories and helpful information, however a short narration of the story line or explanation of the musical numbers would have help us follow and understand the scenes better; (2) we were caught off guard when there were sounds of guitars but no where to be seen with Flemenco (a huge part of this type of musical and dance).
On a final note, now that we have officially joined the outside world of date nights, we highly recommend parking your car tail in first making it easier to leave the crowded parking lot. Riverdance is performing at Segerstrom Center of the Arts in Costa Mesa until January 3, 2016. For more information, please visit their website at www.scfta.org.
Enjoy!
