IMAGINOLOGY is an annual free community event at the OC Fair & Event Center which focuses on S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). For two days (April 9-10, 2022), curious children can explore S.T.E.A.M. through hands-on activities, exhibits, workshops, arts and crafts, competitions, and more! Admission is FREE and most activities are included. Get the details below!
NOTE: Open Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free and most activities are included. Parking is $10. Limited food options will be available for purchase. Imaginology was canceled in 2020 but held virtually in 2021. The OC Fair-produced event began as Youth Expo and was later renamed Imaginology and focused on STEAM, offering a weekend of free family activities. Health and safety note: All OC Fair & Event Center visitors must follow current state and local health & safety protocols at the time of the event.
Family-friendly activities and competitions for Imaginology include:
- NOW OPEN! Youth competitions: Students can showcase their talents this year with a mural project and cardboard engineering. The competitions are free to enter and open to Orange County students. The deadline for online entry submissions is March 30. Projects will need to be dropped off April 16.
- Centennial Farm: Imaginology visitors can check out the amazing animals and California crops on the three-acre working farm and enjoy an oxen exhibit, blacksmithing, chick education, radish-seed planting, terrarium-making and the OC Beekeepers exhibit.
- Free activities: Learning about STEAM while having fun is the aim of Imaginology and exhibitors will offer things to do and see. Family-friendly entertainment will also be featured. Fort Blisters Boot Camp, located near Heroes Hall, is returning so kids can enjoy fun physical activities.
- 4-H competitions: Local youth are judged on their abilities to raise small livestock, their understanding of animal and veterinary sciences and their projects on a variety of topics. Judging will take place at Imaginology

Admission is free and most activities are included. There is a $10 parking charge on Saturday and Sunday. Heroes Hall and Centennial Farm are both open during Imaginology and will feature S.T.E.A.M. activities. Imaginology is easily accessible from the 55, 405 and 73 freeways and from the OCTA 47, 55 and 178 bus lines. Food will be available for purchase at the event.
