WinterFest OC Brings Winter to Orange County! #WinterFestOC

Disclosure: We attended as media.

Orange County has a ton of fun family-friendly things to do over the holidays this year. Here is one more! WinterFest OC brings winter to us! Ice skate to a holiday movie in The Hangar, go tubing down a 130-ft ice slide, play carnival games and rides, watch live performances on the Rockin' Christmas Stage, watch a Christmas Tree Lighting with snowfall, visit with Santa, and more!

Ice Skating in The Hangar

Ice skating in The Hangar to a holiday film was fun and festive, but I was too busy worrying about not falling. Frozen was a fun sing-along around the rink, and Elf was a crack-up. Ice rink admissions are $15 per person for a one hour session which includes skate rental. Need ice assists? They're available for $5 each. Can't decide which night to go? Maybe the movie schedule will help:
  • 12/18-12/25: Elf, Frozen, The Santa Clause
  • 12/26-1/3: The Polar Express, Inside Out, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Snowflake Summit Ice Slide

Tubing was so much fun on the six lane, 130-ft ice slide. We went on the slide several times, and the stairs were an easy climb. Want to skip the lines? Upgrade to a fast pass available online for $10 and $15 on-site.

Candy Cane Carnival

Do you love Carnival Rides and Games? Imagine the OC Fair but during the winter. There are over 30 carnival games and rides which includes a Ferris Wheel, Tilt-a-Whirl, Carousel, etc. HINT: Each general admission ticket includes (1) free carnival ride, and (1) free carnival game.

Rockin Christmas Stage

Do you love live performances? There are various shows performing at the Rockin' Christmas Stage like the Chainsaw Chicks (pictured below), The Comedy and Magic of Jimmy H, Curtain Up!, and Holly Daze. In the Chainsaw Chicks' performance, the women made it fun and interactive for the kids by spewing ice shavings into the audience.

We are blessed with so many options to spend with family this holiday season. I think the big difference at WinterFest were the Carnival Rides and Games. WinterFest OC is now open until January 3, 2016, and is located at the OC Fair & Event Center at 88 Fair Dr in Costa Mesa, CA. For more information, please visit their website at www.winterfestoc.com.

Have fun!
Mary
