Our Stay with Catalina Island Vacation Rentals (CIVR) @4CIVR #SpringBreak

This past weekend we were on Catalina Island. You can read more about our trip here. I've been seeing a lot of deals lately and had this trip on my calendar for at least six months - it was the perfect weekend to go. It's been a few years since we've been on the island overnight and never thought to stay in a vacation home. What a great option! Especially with kids this time, we could use the extra space. Check out this property we stayed at on Beacon St. from Catalina Island Vacation Rentals (CIVR). Here's what we liked:

Within Walking Distance
We walked about four blocks with our luggage to our condo which was also a block from Crescent Ave.

(Note: CIVR have both houses and condos all between one and three blocks of the downtown area).

We walked everywhere this weekend and all of our activities were conveniently about two or three blocks from where we stayed.

Separate and spacious living area with a pull-out sofa.

(Everyone could be as loud as they want as I rested in another room.)

View from one of our rooms

(and what we woke up to the next morning):

A peak inside one of the rooms.

(It's nice, modern, spacious and kid-friendly).

Full Kitchen and Dining

Hmmmm, what can one make in a full-kitchen like this? If I wanted to cook and save money, I could have just went down to Vons (a block away) and made any of our meals.  Nice!!

Laundry Amenities

Who wouldn't appreciate this? Imagine playing in the sand all day. You don't have to worry if you packed extra dry clothes.

Lost and Found

After we checked out, I realized much later that we might have left our son's favorite stuffed shark. (He's been carrying it everywhere all weekend, and it made us really sad to learn this). With a few hours left on the island, I called their main office to find out if it was turned into Lost and Found. Would you believe that they sent someone there to check and called us within an hour with news that they found it?? They made one lucky kid so happy and seeing the joy in his face made us appreciate the moment too.

You might also want to know:

They also have luxury Villas on the other side of the Casino in gated Hampton Cove that includes a personal golf cart to get you to/from town. You'll need a cab to get there though.  Hint: ask the driver to wait for you while you pick up your keys.

Amenities in Hamilton Cove include:
lighted tennis courts, 18-hole professionally designed putting course, English croquet lawn court, sand volleyball court, private dock and secluded beaches with barbecues, three-story clubhouse with expansive pool deck overlooking the ocean, spa, two saunas, and fitness center with dressing rooms and showers.

Thanks, CIVR, for a great experience! We will be back to stay with you again.
