Disclosure: We attended as media.
We recently attended Pretend City's 6th Birthday Party, and it was so fun! With so many ways to play in Pretend City, I usually let mine take the lead and wander through Orange Plaza until they find something they want to do. The first thing they wanted to check out was the Heart and Seoul: Growing Up in Korea exhibit. This exhibit highlighted what life is like in Korea, from the ways people live, eat, and play, as well as their contributions to pop culture. The more interactive features included a K-Pop stage, a Tae Kwon Do studio, and a stop-motion animation station. The boys enjoyed animating the little figures that were provided.

After exploring this exhibit, we wandered over to The Farm. The boys were fascinated by the hatchery, and the adorable baby chicks inside. At the farm, they could rake through the soil and pick vegetables, as well as pick fruit off the tree.
After cake, the boys wandered through some of the rest of the city, including a library, art studio, fire/police station, and health center. It was then that they came upon their favorite exhibit, The Marina. At the marina, the boys built and raced boats, went fishing, and constructed waterways. Needless to say, they were completely soaked (and happy!) by the time we left.

Connected to the farm is a Ralph's Grocery Store, which helps to teach children about where their food comes from. Located in the grocery store is one of two infant play areas (the other is right next to the park), meant for children under 18 months of age. Filled with soft mats and age appropriate toys, this was the perfect place for my 6 month old to play, without having to worry about him getting run over by older kids. He loved looking at himself in the mirror, and playing with the toys.

As the boys played at The Beach, some special guests arrived to kick off the party! Spiderman and Cinderella were on hand to greet children in Orange Plaza, and once the lines died down, they traveled through Pretend City for more photo opportunities.
No birthday party is complete without cake! After Spiderman and Cinderella made their rounds, two delicious cakes, one vanilla and one chocolate, were set out in Orange Plaza. Children who were also celebrating their 6th birthdays were invited to stand behind the table, and after singing "Happy Birthday," the children blew out the candles. The cake was then handed out; it was tasty! So tasty, in fact, that my boys snuck back for seconds.
