The week leading up to the convention, fans from all over shared pictures of their robots. Here are some of ours:
BotCon Ready!
What do you wear to these conventions? I have no idea, but my husband went out and found matching couple shirts for us. Such a geek! This is me the morning of with coffee in hand.
The convention was a five day event which included some San Diego attractions (for the early arrivers), exhibits, panels, film fest, contests, a movie night, casino night, and more.
My family and I attended on Friday with the Golden Ticket Holders (before it was open to the public). When we got to the convention held at the Town & Country Resort and Convention Center, there was a really long line in the Lobby.
Darren got a picture with famous Voice Director, Wally Burr. He voice directed the original Transformers cartoon (Generation 1) and first Transformers Movie. You might recognize his other works in the 80's (to name a few): G.I. Joe, Inspector Gadget, Spider-Man, Captain Caveman, Jem and many more.

Some were walking around with this big box of Metroplex.
When standing in line to get autographs, I met "Kenya Starflight". Kenya (who wished to be known as her gamer's name) is from Idaho. She has been collecting autographs and collector's pins for five years since 2009. The shirt has never been washed because she didn't want the ink to fade. I also learned that Keyna looks forward to the convention every year, because she doesn't know anyone back home who is passionate as she is about Transformers. It's the one time a year that she's "with her people". Kenya is really friendly and kept me company in line. It's hard for me to believe that she's the only one in Idaho so if you're from there, please look her up.
I made it up to the front of the line in no time and got autographs from Wally Burr, Jason Jansen, and Glenn Morshower. What a bunch of nice guys. My only regret is not having more items or a poster to get autographed. Everyone was limited to two items each to keep the line moving. We could have had eight items autographed. Why not? They make great gifts.
BONUS: Check out what I scored from Glenn. I must frame these. =) Thanks again, Glenn!
Large display of Beast Hunters:
Next year is the 30th anniversary but they already have merch out from their collection.
Contest Entrants:
We scored these Bot Shots for $1 at the BotCon's official store. (Wish we picked up more).
This was our first BotCon and we're hoping the next one will also be in SoCal (to be announced in the next month or so). If we go to another one, we will be ready.
