Most recently I received a $20 Gift Card for a dine-on-a-budget experiment at Denny's with the family. At first I was like, no way! Then I looked at their $2, $4, $6, $8 Value Menu and thought, alright this could work. For starters, I found Cheese Quesadilla for the children on the $2 menu. It came with fresh pico de gallo and sour cream. SCORE!
My husband ordered their new Baja Quesadilla Burger from their $6 menu. It comes with a beef patty, avocado, shredded Cheddar cheese, lettuce,pico de gallo, and a creamy pepper spread served between grilled flour tortilla. It also comes with tortilla chips and a side of salsa. He said it was pretty tasty, and he would order it again.
I like that they offer breakfast all day long so I ordered their Blueberry Muffin Pancakes from the $6 menu which came with two blueberry & white chocolate chips buttermilk pancakes. It's served with two eggs and two bacon strips or two sausage links. These were actually very good. The white chocolate chips added an extra sweetness to the already delicious pancakes.
For dessert, we ordered the Strawberry Pancake Puppies for $2! It came with three pancake puppies tossed in powdered sugar, drizzled with cream cheese icing, a scoop of vanilla ice cream that's topped with strawberries and whipped cream. They're great for sharing!
I was nervous when the bill came out, but here you go! I ordered 2 entries off the $6 menu, 1 kid's meal to share off the $2 menu, dessert off the $2 menu, PLUS a soda. Total came out to $19.75 (not including tip). However, I could have done even better and not order that soda or the dessert. Furthermore, children can eat free on Tuesdays after 4pm (beverage not included) so if my kids wanted their usual spaghetti or something else, that is a great night to take them and still meet within our $20 budget.

Denny's is highly underrated. Work weird hours/go to college for a while, or drive partway across the country, and you'll come to appreciate a place where you can drop in anytime you want and get a satisfying meal. Timed right, it's a phenomenal pick-me-up.
