National Teacher Day is May 7, 2013 - Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas

It's that time of year again - National Teacher Day is May 7, 2013. Some dedicated creative moms will organize a week-long celebration to shower their beloved teachers. 

I always have the hardest time finding a gift for the teachers and their assistants (we have a lot). They work really hard all year round with my child, how could I ever repay them?

Well if I could, I would give them more than a $5-$10 gift card per person (which easily ends up being around $100 for everyone.) Yikes! 



If you ask most teachers, they'll tell you it's the thought that counts and they'll appreciate anything. I'm practical so here are my go-to gifts:

• Gift cards to Starbucks or Coffee Bean with a coffee mug (optional)
• Gift cards to Michaels
• Gift cards to Target or Walmart
• Gift cards to Barnes & Noble  
• Handwash from Bath and Body Works (they also have a nice selection at Target or Walmart)
