We attended a media preview.
It’s that time of the year again for deep fried wonderfulness at the Los Angeles County Fair (LACF). This is the place to forget about your diet and just indulge. Did you know that fair goers can eat something new at the LACF for every meal, every day of the Fair, and not eat the same thing twice? With more than 300 varieties including Mexican, Italian, Asian, and Greek flavors (along with LA’s best food trucks), it’s easy to see why food is one of the top two reasons people visit LACF over and over again. Staples like turkey legs and a foot long corn dog were some of the hundreds of food items we tried, and they were huge portions!
But wait, there are new items on the menu this year (some are Gluten Free!):

- Sriracha Corn Dog – a corn dog dipped in Sriracha-flavored batter.
- Wood-grilled flat bread – a new item in the expanded Farm is the wood-grilled flat bread filled with a variety of toppings harvested from LACF’s organic farm.
- Ramen Burgers – from creator Keizo Shimamoto, a fresh USDA Prime ground beef chuck patty sandwiched between two craftily formed buns made from freshly cut ramen noodles accompanied by a special shoyu glaze and choice market fresh vegetables.
- Bacon-wrapped Zucchini
- Deep-fried Doritos
- Chile relleno pretzel burger - a spicy chorizo patty, jalapeno jam, avocado, tomato, cheese, and a whole chile relleno in a soft pretzel bun.
- Fried Gansitos – deep-friend snack cake.
- Funnel Cake Hot Dog – literally it's a hot dog dipped in funnel cake batter and deep fried. It’s like dinner and dessert in one!
- Triple-decker Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger (the picture says it all!)
- Deep-fried Pecan Pie
- The Pickle Dog – a giant whole dill pickle cored out and filled with a hot dog on a stick, battered and deep fried.
- Deep-fried Pickles
- Tequila-infused Pickle Poppers
- On the Gluten-Free menu, you'll find Big Rib and Biggy Sausage, Biggy GF Burger, and Big Chic on a Stick.
